Located in Chula Vista, our 24-hour hospital provides comprehensive emergency and critical care for the greater San Diego community. We manage everything from triage to advanced surgery, including GDVs, gastrotomies, and other emergency procedures. Recent technology additions — such as a new ultrasound unit and upcoming Ligasure vessel-sealing device — help us provide efficient, high-quality care.

We also partner closely with our sister Multi-Specialty & ER hospital in La Mesa, just 25 miles away, ensuring seamless collaboration and access to board-certified specialists.

Your Role: Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian

As an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinarian at PESC – South, you’ll join a collaborative, highly skilled ER team committed to patient-centered medicine.

You’ll work alongside experienced doctors and talented technicians who share your drive for excellence and compassion. This role includes managing hospitalized cases, performing emergency surgeries, and providing hands-on mentorship for newer clinicians.

You’ll have access to Thrive’s nationwide community of specialists and mentors, with robust opportunities for continuing education, leadership development, and career mobility across 400+ hospitals.

Compensation

We offer a competitive, no-negative-accrual PROSAL model that rewards both your time and your talent.

 Annual range: $190,000 – $230,000 base (dependent on experience, skill set, and location).
Additional compensation opportunities available through production and shift differentials.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent
• Active California Veterinary License (or eligibility prior to start)
• Active DEA license or eligibility
